Identity Types

As demonstrated in the Identities defined topic, identities can be a number of different types of entities, including individual clients through to training organisations.

Because the interactions between your organisation and external identities differ widely based on what type of identity you are dealing with, the 1024 system asks to you to specify the identity types for your identities.

As with many lists within the 1024 system, the list of identity types can be user-defined by a system administrator. In the examples used in this documentation, the identity types are as follows:

·Client - an individual or organisation to whom your organisation provides service, contributing to a case load.
·MHTRS Representative - Mental Health Tribunal Representation Scheme student representatives.
·RTO - a Registered Training Organisation.
·Service Provider - a third party organisation who provides a service to clients under defined programs (e.g. Home & Community Care), or to whom your organisation provides education sessions.
·Other - a 'catch all' type for any identities that do not fit into the above categories. The example of your stationery provider would be an 'other' identity (you can record contact details for an other identity).

The types of identities assigned to identity records determine what information can be recorded against the identities. For example, if the identity "Jane Doe" is a Client, you can record case load information against that identity. If the identity called "Link Up" is a Service Provider, you can record Education details against that identity.
